Residential Projects

Residential developments within the County Durham and North Yorkshire area are the life source of Phoenix Design and something we have many years of experience delivering.

Through years of continual growth in the business and our business leaders, we are constantly striving for excellent service and project delivery. We aim to be transparent in our delivery, keeping our clients updated on their project progression.

We work across the Durham and Tees Valley area, including new build developments, including our most extensive housing development to date, a 14-house estate for a well-known social housing provider. As well as this, we take care of more minor works, such as single-storey extensions, two-storey extensions, loft conversions, and garage conversions.

EXTENSIONS

Designing an architectural building extension requires a balance of creativity and practicality. At Phoenix Design, we consider available space, the desired aesthetic, and the project budget. With the right approach, you can create an extension that enhances the overall look and feel of the building while also meeting your functional needs.
When designing an architectural building extension, it's essential to take a holistic approach that considers both the practical and aesthetic aspects of the project. This might involve exploring different design options and carefully selecting materials and finishes that complement the existing structure.

CONVERSIONS

An architectural conversion is a process entailing the transformation of an existing, often unused space, such as a garage or loft space, transforming it into a new space.

The process necessitates meticulous consideration of the building's structure and flow to ensure that the new space meets its requirements while maintaining the integrity of the existing building.

Conversions could also involve the creation of a new space, such as an HMO [House of Multiple Occupants] from an existing large house; developments such as this can breathe life into an otherwise unusable space.

NEW BUILDS

When designing a newly built house, it's essential to consider the occupants' needs and lifestyle. This can include factors such as the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and living spaces required. Energy-efficient materials and technologies can also be incorporated to reduce the house's environmental impact.

A successful new-build house design should also consider the local building planning and regulations. These can include setback requirements, height restrictions, and building regulations. Working with a knowledgeable architect can help ensure compliance with these regulations while achieving the desired design.
